Dental Implants
If you are missing teeth or wear dentures, you may be a candidate for dental implants. Used in dentistry for over 50 years, these tiny surgical cylinders act as structural replacements for the roots of lost teeth to create a foundation for a crown or bridge restoration, or, to stabilize dentures.
Tooth Replacement
• Single Tooth
Dental implants are often the preferred approach to replace a single missing tooth rather than a traditional dental bridge, which involves preparation of adjacent teeth that might not need treatment otherwise. A single tooth implant can be restored with a porcelain crown to create a natural-looking result.
• Multiple Teeth
In the case of multiple missing teeth when a bridge is necessary, one or more dental implants can provide support where none exists. Implants may be used to extend the coverage area of the bridge, allowing for a fixed prosthetic rather than the alternative, a removable partial denture.
Denture Stabilization
Implants are often ideal anchors for complete and partial dentures. Patients that have had their dentures secured with dental implants often comment that they can enjoy foods such as bread, steak and crunchy vegetables again without fear or embarrassment of loose dentures that slip and fall when eating or talking.
Your Dental Team
Our dentists work closely with dental specialists, Periodontists and Oral Surgeons, that specialize in implant placement, to achieve optimal results. These specialists will insert the implant cylinder which is then restored with a crown or bridge.
